Jennifer Aniston breathed the exotic the moment she stepped on the red carpet.
The
45-year-old actress and SAG nominee defied convention - and gravity too
- as she glided to the 2015 Screen Actors Awards on Sunday.
Jennifer
may have lost out (again) on a best actress award for her dramatic turn
in Cake, but she was a visual winner wearing a full-length gown made of
a shimmery gold material that ended in a black border around her feet
and featured a daringly deep-cut neckline.
+124
Picture Perfect: The actress has gushed over what a great talent Justin is too
+124
+124
Front and rear plunge: While Jennifer's dress displayed a daringly deep neckline, the back of the gown was equally low cut
At
that previous event, the former Friends star banished her
girl-next-door image by wearing a sexy, form-fitting red pantsuit with
no top and no brassiere either.
But Jennifer had the confidence to pull that pantsuit off, and she exuded the same edge at the SAG Awards as well.
Jennifer
competed against other amazing actresses in this SAG category including
Felicity Jones (The Theory Of Everything), Reese Witherspoon (Wild)
and Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Julianne Moore (Still Alice), who was
crowned winner.
+124
Don't worry: Jennifer was comforted by Meryl Streep, who knows a great deal about winning awards but very little about losing
+124
Famous friends: Jennifer also had a chat with Julia Roberts, who wowed in a fitted tuxedo, while most people donned gowns
+124
Most popular girl at the party: Jennifer chatted with a host of A-List pals, who surely comforted her on her loss
+124
A-list ladies: Jennifer left Justin at
their table while she rubbed elbows with Meryl Streep, left, and Julia
Roberts, right, at the ceremony
+124
More famous pals: Maggie Gyllenhaal was another star who Jennifer caught up with at the event
+124
Former co-stars: Jennifer got a hug from her Rumor Has It co-star Kevin Costner at the SAGs
+124
Here we go: Justin held Jennifer's hand as they walked the red carpet together
+124
Daring décolletage: A glittery body chain was all that was needed to dress up Jennifer's plunging neckline
+124
He's with her: Jennifer was accompanied by her fiancé Justin Theroux who looked dapper in a black suit
+124
Workouts paying off: The star - who
skipped workouts to help shape her character in Cake - has obviously
been hitting the gym a lot lately
That
performance also earned the Friends star Golden Globe and Critics'
Choice nominations, and now her performance has also garnered her a
nomination for a Screen Actors Guild award.
On
the day after failing to receive the Oscar nomination, 45-year-old
Aniston was promoting Cake while sitting just inches away from a poster
touting her 'Oscar-worthy performance.'
'Well,
there's "Oscar-worthy,"' the actress said, with a grin. 'The truth is,
this movie hasn't even come out yet,' she continued. 'I feel so lucky
that any of that has even happened on a movie that we started shooting
not even a year ago. We started April 3rd of last year. I couldn't ask
for more than that. '
Don't look now: The Cake actress flashed more of that cleavage - lots more
+124
She definitely takes home the Best Dressed prize: Jennifer looked simply sensational in her body-hugging full-length gown
Meanwhile,
never mind the diamonds on their fingers, it was the stars eye-catching
gowns that sparkled at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards.
From
ruby red to glittering gold and emerald green, with shades of amethyst
and a splash of diamond white thrown in, it was the night the jewel
colours ruled the red carpet.
Julianne
Moore was gorgeous in green, while Keira Knightley, Sofia Vergara and
Camila Alves all wowed in their vibrant gowns at the awards show.

The
actress, who was named the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in
a Leading Role for Still Alice, said on the red carpet that she had
been touched to hear from Alzheimer's sufferers and their
representatives.
'What's
so amazing for me was the letters I've got,' she said. 'That to me is
really really meaningful. We did want it to be as accurate as
possible.'

overheating on the overtly warm Los Angeles day
She said of
her pregnancy: 'Does it make [dressing for the red carpet] harder? It
just means that you're not going to wear anything tight.
'Actually people do wear tight things when they're pregnant. I don't really go for that.'
Of her Erdem gown, the actress said: 'Shoes may come off later. I can go, "Well I'm pregnant," and nobody can say anything.'
Keira joked that she envied Maria's slender figure: 'If I had that waist [looking at Maria] I'd wear that.
'The waist has disappeared, so I can't do that.'

because our storylines are all over the place,' explained Natalie.
'It's a chance to have a reunion and all catch up. Invariably when we are all together it's a bit of a party.'
One of those co-stars was Kit Harrington, who said of the upcoming season: 'Without giving anything away, it's lavish this year.
'You'd hear on set in previous years, "can I afford that? No." This year they're throwing money at it.'

Having won the SAG last year for 12 Years A Slave, the beauty was returning to present an award.
While bright colours ruled the red carpet, as always black proved a popular choice.
Hollywood heavyweights Emma Stone, Julia Roberts and SAG-nominated Meryl Streep all wore the shade.

nominated for a SAG for the 16th time, it was just another awards show,
in a simple but chic black Lanvin wrap dress.
Also in black was veteran star Joan Collins, in a fabulous sequinned gown, and double SAG nominee Julia Louis-Dreyfus in lace.
Julia,
up for both her political series Veep and TV movie The Normal Heart,
joked: 'I would be lying if I said "it's fun to lose". If anybody says

Boyhood's SAG nominated Ethan Hawke wore a dark green Calvin Klein suit.
He said that being approached to star in the movie, which missed out to Birdman for best film, was a 'lightbulb' moment.
'Definitely
by leaps and bounds the strangest ask,' he told red carpet host Maria
Menounos. 'And when he [director Richard Linklater] approached me with
it, it wasn't like there was a script.
'He
was just talking about how do you make a movie about growing up. A
light went off in my head and I just couldn't believe nobody had done
that yet.'
And
he said the success of the movie was down to the commitment of the
child stars, whose childhood was captured on screen over 12 years.
Said Ethan: 'The fact that nobody quit, the kids, Ellar and Lorelie, the whole thing is built off them.'
+124
The ones to watch: Boyhood director Richard Linklater, with his young stars Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater

out on the red carpet were Uzo Aduba in Angel Sanchez, House Of Cards'

rather unpopular shade of yellow.
It
was OITNB star Uzo's night, as the 33-year-old was honoured with the
gong for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
Another
less common choice was green, which Claire Danes in Marc Jacobs, SAG

Many
of last year's SAG winners went on to claim Oscar gold, including
Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine),
Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave), and Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers
Club).
Nearly
every major acting nod handed out at the SAG awards was a precursor for
the Academy Awards in 2014 - making it one of the best predictors for
how this year's race will go.
Feeling green: SAG winner Patricia Arquette in Vivienne Westwood and Andrea Riseborough chose variations on the same shade

Emotional: Boyhood's Patricia Arquette removes her glasses to wipe her eyes after being named Best Supporting Actress
