Two bombings in Iraq's capital Baghdad have killed at least 20 people and injured another 59, police sources told Al Jazeera.
A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden belt early on Monday morning in Adan Square, a busy area of Kadhimiyah, a predominantly Shia neighbourhood in northern Baghdad.
In a separate incident, an improvised explosive device blew up early on Monday on one of the main streets in the Shia neighbourhood of Husseiniyah in northeast Baghdad, killing two civilians and injuring four others.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks, but suicide bombings are a tactic often used by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The capital has seen a string of deadly attacks in the past two weeks, includingbombings on Saturday that killed at least 36 people.
Despite the violence, the government lifted a longstanding night-time curfew on Saturday night aimed at normalising life in the war-torn city
