but Kate Winslet was anything but a wallflower as she hit the red carpet
on Monday night.

39-year-old stole the show as she arrived for the London premiere of
her new film A Little Chaos in a figure-flaunting dress

Kate
looked stunning as she struck a series of poses in the midnight blue
gown, which featured a very daring neckline, making the most of the
actress' assets.

After lapping up the attention in front of fans in Leicester Square, the blonde beauty was thrilled to meet up with pals Alan Rickman, who directed the movie, and co-star Helen McCrory.
The trio joined forces outside the cinema and were in deep conversation before heading in to watch the special screening of the new period drama.

The project is Rickman's second directorial effort, and his first in 18 years.
He directs and stars as French king Louis XIV alongside Kate, who plays a landscape gardener competing to build a fountain at the Palace of Versailles in the 17th Century.
Speaking at the Glasgow Film Festival in February, the thespian insisted he didn't mean to postpone his stints behind the camera for so long, but had to due to his longrunning role as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series.

He explained: 'I wasn't free until now because I started doing Harry Potter, and when I started there were only three books written so I didn't know I was going to be unable [to direct].
'Because if you're going to direct a film it's over a year of your life and I didn't have that.
'So once I had finished with that series of films I was free, and then along came this wonderful script.
'It's about a woman landscape gardener at the court of Louis XIV being given the job of designing one of the fountains at Versailles.

'There is a Versailles, there was a Louis XIV but there was certainly never a woman landscape gardener and in way that's the point of the film - what does it look like to have a woman with job in a world that was completely dominated by men? It's a fantasy really.'

And it wasn't only Kate who made an impact on Monday night - Helen's husband, Homeland star Damian Lewis, also caughts fans' attention as he arrived at the screening.
After posing with his elegant wife, who also looked stunning in retro silver number, the flame-haired hunk played a game of hide and seek, sneaking away from his partner behind one of the red carpet's ornamental flower arrangements.
Other stars to arrive at the premiere included TV presenter Anna Williamson, actress Suzanne Shaw and Holby City star Jules Knight.
