If you have not heard about Steve Harvey’s huge gaffe at the just
concluded Miss Universe 2015, then you must be living under a rock.
After announcing Miss USA, Olivia Jordan, as the third runner-up, Harvey initially named Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo, as the night’s big winner with the remaining contestant, Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurzbach, taking the second runner-up spot.
A few minutes later, Harvey went to the stage to announce that he had made an error and that Pia Wurzbach was in fact the winner of the pageant.
It is for this reason that Pia Alonzo lives in fear that the coveted crown may be taken away from her.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pia says that she is not enjoying her first days as Miss Universe as she is terrified of losing the crown every day she wakes up.
She went on to reveal how she kept asking her manager if she was the winner and whether she would also be de-crowned like Miss Columbia.
“I didn’t expect that to happen at all. I had to ask my [manager] many times like, ‘Did I really win? Am I really Miss Universe? Are you going to take the crown from me now?’ And they [said], ‘No, no, you’re really the winner,’” she said.
