The conflicting headlines were based on the results of an opinion poll released by Infotrak CEO Angela Ambitho on Sunday. According to the survey, 53% percent of Kenyans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction while 44% are of the contrary opinion.
While the Daily Nation had ‘Kenya Heading the Wrong Way – Survey’, The Star carried ‘Kenya Moving in the Right Direction-Poll’ as its’ headline.
Kenyans have faulted The Star over the obvious gaffe even as they insist that their headline was based on a 2015 Infotrak report which showed that the number of people who think the country was headed in the wrong direction had reduced compared to the 2016 survey.
