2015 BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Semi-Finalists Announced

The seven British brands in the running for the 2015 British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund have been revealed.
Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou, Michael van der Ham, Mother of Pearl, Osman and Sophia Webster have been announced as this year's shortlist.
"It was exciting to have such a diverse shortlist to consider, all of whom have carved out a distinctive niche for themselves," Alexandra Shulman, the British Vogue Editor who also chairs the Fund committee, told the publication. "I congratulate all of them for reaching this stage in a highly competitive arena."
The winning label will receive a £200,000 grant, which is to be used to help develop the designer's business. The winner will also be awarded with a year-long mentoring program to support them as they grow.
The seven candidates all "have the incredible potential to change the future of British fashion and are all worthy candidates for the 2015 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund," according to Caroline Rush, CEO of the BFC.
This year's Fashion Fund events are being documented into a series of clips, according to British Vogue. In the second episode, the group of semi-finalists faces the judging panel to present their business plans and defend why they should be the 2015 winner.
Peter Pilotto was named the 2014 winner of the Designer Fashion Fund. Erdem, Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders and Nicholas Kirkwood are all previous winners of the competition, which is now in its sixth year.
"We're so relieved it's over," Pilotto told British Vogue following the competition last year. "It's been so stressful just waiting for this night, I've had back pain! I actually had to see an osteopath because of the stress of it all! We're just so relieved and so pleased."
Burberry, Debenhams, Harrods, Paul Smith, Topshop and Vogue are all supporters of the fund.
