According to a government officer, a car bomb was destroyed before hitting the compound. He further revealed that four al shabaab members were shot dead.
The group claimed to have killed several security officers during the attack, but their statement was dismissed by a government official.
“They were trying to storm the premises but they have been taken out before they reached their objective. There was no casualty on our side,” government official as quoted by BBC.
The al shabaab group has carried out several attacks in Somalia and Kenya. This year’s major attack was the Garissa incident that claimed 147 lives.
